Each Dragon Fruit plant comes with three well established, rooted plants.
Cuttings are 8-12" for domesitc orders, 6-8" each cutting for international buyers.
Species Selenicereus setaceus Has a white nocturnal bloom with greenish-yellow back petals and yellow to greenish stigma and yellow anthers. Native to (South America)-Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay although very rare and not commonly found in its native habitat. Growth is dark green to grey-green 3-angled stem growth.
Selenicereus setaceus Growth habits/adaptability are simular to Hylocereus-(Dragon Fruit). Selenicereus setaceus is also commonly called Pineapple cactus since this plant is also cultivated like Dragon Fruit in a few areas for the fruit it produces, which can be very sweet but tends to be smaller in size compared to Dragon Fruit species and or hybrids.
Selenicereus setaceus is easy to grow and Can be grown in a hanging basket or trellised/trained up a post, very adaptable. Takes simular care as Hylocereus do-rich well draining soil mix, adaquate water in growing season and some shade when young or until well rooted. Can not tolorate frezzing temperatures (below 32 deg.) and could have stem tip damage at 35-40 degrees or below.
Notes : Besides one other species in the same genus Selenicereus megalanthus which has fruit similar to Dragon Fruit hybrids Selenicereus setaceus is the only other species in the genus Selenicereus with any fruit value, although small fruit it has been used as a cross for many Dragon Fruit hybrids and remains high in interest with hybridizers worldwide as the mother-hold seed pod X or as a father-pollinator X.
